Your Office "On-The-Go"

If the year 2020 has taught us anything, it’s how to be flexible with our work environment. We’ve adapted, learning to work outside of our normal routine with whatever resources we have available. And while having a consistent routine is ideal, having your office on-the-go allows for flexibility and resourcefulness. That way, you’re ready to rumble, regardless of where life takes you. Here are a couple “must-haves” we think are the real MVPs for a portable office:

Steady, Steady, CHARGE: Ah, all set up and ready to go. You go to turn on your laptop and “oops!” Battery is down to 5%. Being prepared is key. Throw that laptop charger, phone charger, Airpod case, and any other charger you need in your bag. Better to be safe than sorry. An unusable device equals an unproductive work flow.

Best Laid Plans: It’s awfully challenging to accomplish work without a plan in place. Enter: your planner. Whether you prefer virtual planners and syncing everything with your devices, or an old school paper planner, they can become a life source when life becomes chaotic. They’re meant to keep you on task, make you aware of deadlines, and pace yourself.

Hey There, Nice Device: A virtual office would be pretty useless if you didn’t have a way to connect. But thank goodness our options are numerous when it comes to technology. Don’t forget to pack your laptop, phone, ipad, or whatever device you use into your bag - it’s a no brainer.

Let’s Go Old School: We’ve all been there: we’re trying to enter our appointments, input data, or make a note on our phone, and it just - won’t - work. When all else fails, pull out the ole trusty paper and pen. A notebook and pen are reliable, easily accessible, and foolproof. Sometimes, simple is best.

Zone Out, Tune In: Headphones are ideal when you’re in a portable office. Regardless of what’s going on around you, you can tune out the noise and get in the zone. Plus, it helps with privacy when conducting work calls. Less distraction, more focus. Work smarter, not harder, people.

Don’t Forget To Treat Yourself: What makes you personally feel more at ease and productive? A cozy sweater on a chilly day, an iced latte in your hand, a certain Spotify playlist in the background? Often, the little things that make us more relaxed and comfortable make all the difference when it comes to productivity. Don’t undermine comfort, it pays off.
